The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golovkin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Golovkin jabs Pinakamalupet right on the nose. Pinakamalupet blinks but takes it well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A frustrated look appears on Golovkin's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Pinakamalupet displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Golovkin throws out the jab.
Pinakamalupet replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Golovkin blocks it well.

A jab-cross combination lands for Pinakamalupet and sends Golovkin crashing to the mat! Pinakamalupet follows him down to the mat - Golovkin regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Gennady Golovkin has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
