The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Steve Erwin and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lugg with a lazy takedown attempt
and Brewer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Brewer breaks from the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lugg.
Brewer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lugg is trying to defend but Brewer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lugg looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lugg is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Brewer wants to take a breather but Lugg is having none of it.
Brewer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brewer slips a nice elbow through Lugg's hands, connecting with Lugg's forehead.
Brewer content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Brewer trying to control the action but Lugg is working from the bottom.
Brewer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lugg on the ground.

Lugg moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Brewer has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Lugg to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Brewer is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Lugg pulls down on the head and he's put Brewer to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Joe Lugg!
Joe Lugg decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
