Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Pera (ranked 656 p4p, 91 weight class) and Martinez Eluard (ranked 1288 p4p, 177 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eluard throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pera counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Pera fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Eluard has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Pera darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Eluard makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Pera throws a leg kick which misses Eluard's front leg but catches the back leg as Eluard tries to avoid it.
Pera uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Eluard has time to react.
Pera bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Eluard has Pera pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pera manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Eluard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pera is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Eluard.
