Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ewen Davis (ranked 456 p4p, 71 weight class) and Olympia Unchained (ranked 2285 p4p, 295 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Atreyu-Ex's and oh's. Unchained has chosen Murphy Lee (feat. King Jacob & Prentiss Church) - Stomp (Explicit) as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ewen Davis!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Olympia Unchained!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unchained lands with a good body shot.
Davis tries to clinch but Unchained is having none of it.
We've been hearing reports that Davis has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Davis scores with a jab to the body.
Unchained comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Davis shoots in and gets a takedown into Unchained's guard.

Davis postures up in Unchained's guard and throws a big left but Unchained blocks it.
Davis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Unchained controls Davis momentarily but Davis frees himself.
Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Unchained is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Davis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Unchained swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Davis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Davis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Unchained tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Davis is in Unchained's guard.
Davis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Unchained can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Unchained with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Davis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Davis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Unchained looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Unchained takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Davis breaks from Unchained's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Unchained is squirming around, avoiding Davis's attempts to control the action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Davis fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Unchained on the side of the head.
Davis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Unchained.
Davis moves into range and connects with a jab.
Davis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Unchained swivels and escapes.
Nice uppercut lands for Davis. That snapped Unchained's head back.
Davis keeps Unchained at a distance using the push kick.
Davis lands a nice hook to Unchained's body. Unchained takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Davis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ewen Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Unchained gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Davis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Unchained defends well.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Unchained accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Unchained throws a sloppy strike and Davis has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Unchained is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Davis!
