Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CARMINE LACONA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Rose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, CARMINE LACONA!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose swinging wilding here.
Rose will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
LACONA throws a nice inside leg kick.
LACONA tries to clinch but Rose is having none of it.
Rose throws a right hand that LACONA ducks under and follows up with a left that LACONA also avoids with ease.
Rose throws a body punch but LACONA moves out of range.
Rose shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has LACONA pinned against the cage. LACONA gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rose throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by LACONA.
LACONA shoots in for a takedown but Rose shows good takedown defense.
Rose takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
LACONA lands a high kick!

It looks like Alexander Rose has been cut.
Rose throws a sloppy head kick
and LACONA counters with a big head kick but Rose shrugs it off.
Rose is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

LACONA changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rose looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rose is trying to buck LACONA off.
Rose is not content to let LACONA control the position.

LACONA stands up and we're back to a striking position.
LACONA throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rose's waist but Rose gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing LACONA off to one side.
Rose tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but LACONA paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A right-left combo lands from LACONA.

LACONA rushes Rose and presses him up against the cage.
LACONA goes for a takedown attempt but Rose pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Alexander Rose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CARMINE LACONA.

LACONA changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rose looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

LACONA has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and LACONA decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rose's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
LACONA wants to control from the top but Rose keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

CARMINE LACONA dominated that round.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
LACONA tries for a takedown but Rose sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rose has managed to clinch.
A knee to the head by Rose.
Rose tries for a takedown. No joy.
LACONA tries to pull guard but Rose won't allow it.

LACONA must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
LACONA wants to control from the top but Rose keeps moving.

Rose had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. LACONA is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rose Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take LACONA's back instead.

LACONA is trying to get back to his feet but Rose has full control of the position and if anything, LACONA has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
LACONA is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
LACONA holding both Rose 's hands and preventing any damage.

LACONA is in a bad position with Rose working for a choke. LACONA manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Rose thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Rose is trying to control the position but LACONA postures up.

Rose has his foot on LACONA's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. LACONA works his way back into a safe position though.
Rose tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rose closes the distance and clinches.

Rose jumps guard and drags LACONA to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

LACONA uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rose.
LACONA moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Rose pushes a forearm under LACONA's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, LACONA is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
