Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Raske (ranked 856 p4p, 128 weight class) and Adam Silver (ranked 4885 p4p, 534 weight class). Adam Silver has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Raske!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Silver!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raske tries to land a front kick but Silver steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Raske ducks under a wild hook from Silver.

Silver moves into the clinch successfully.
Raske misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A body shot lands from Raske.
A short left from Raske.

Silver breaks the clinch.
Raske wants to clinch up but Silver keeps it at a distance.
Raske takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Raske changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Raske scores with a hook.
The fight stays on the outside here - Silver looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Adam Silver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Raske tries to keep at a distance but Silver has taken the fight into the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Silver.

Raske lands with a short shot to the head.

Silver gets control of Raske's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silver will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Raske stands and throws Silver's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Silver wants to get back to his feet.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Raske has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Raske's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silver can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silver dodges the ground and pound from Raske.
Silver is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Silver wants to improve his position but Raske is controlling well.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Raske in particular looking to stall.

Raske is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Raske fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silver, pushing him back against the cage.
Raske definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Silver lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Silver prevents a body shot from Raske.
Raske misses with the head strike.
Raske tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Silver looking for a takedown.

Silver manages to break the clinch.
Silver closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Silver on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
We've been informed that Silver has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Raske tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silver was well out of range. Poor timing from Raske.
Silver tries to close the distance and clinch up but Raske swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silver misses with a hook.
Raske was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silver has managed to clinch.
Silver stalls.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Raske has a couple of punches blocked by Silver.

Silver escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Raske bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silver tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Raske's elbow.
Raske is leaning against Silver and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Raske letting Silver take a breather here.
Raske lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Silver backwards.
Raske has a couple of punches blocked by Silver.
Silver blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Silver blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Raske tries to work over Silver's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Raske dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Silver misses with a double jab
and Raske connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Raske is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Silver wants to clinch up but Raske keeps it at a distance.
Silver blocks a jab.
Raske works Silver's body with a nice hook.
Silver moves forwards but Raske connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Raske has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Raske cracks Silver with a right hand to the side of the head.


Silver is rocked!
Silver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Raske swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Silver lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Raske circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silver misses with a series of wild punches.
Raske is looking to counter punch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Raske.
Raske takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Raske is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silver can do to turn this around?

Raske cracks Silver with a good jab.
Silver is still on wobbly legs! Can Raske finish him?
Silver throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Raske counters with a left to the body.
Raske knocks out Silver with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Raske before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Raske picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Thomas Raske!
Thomas Raske seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
