and Shankariya counters with a crisp one two that drops Borodin! Shankariya thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Borodin to his feet! Borodin is in big trouble!
We've been hearing reports that Shankariya has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Shankariya will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Borodin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shankariya sprawling to the canvas! Shankariya rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Borodin finish him?!
Oh Shankariya is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shankariya changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Borodin tries to avoid it but Shankariya manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Borodin to the ground. Borodin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Borodin! But no joy.
Shankariya seems to have got his legs back now.

Borodin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shankariya moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Borodin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Shankariya shoots in looking for a takedown. Borodin tries to sprawl out of it but Shankariya keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Borodin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Aleksey Borodin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Borodin cracks Shankariya with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Borodin has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Shankariya to stand back up!
Borodin darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Shankariya's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Borodin before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
