PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luther Beck (ranked 9251 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Rollins (ranked 5999 p4p, 504 weight class). Roger Rollins told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luther Beck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Rollins!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rollins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rollins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beck keeps working.
Beck misses with a strike from the bottom.

Rollins goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Beck rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rollins's guard! Nice work there by Beck!

Beck is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rollins sees it coming and defends easily.

Beck fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rollins avoids it really well and circles away.

Rollins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Beck manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Rollins keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Rollins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beck. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rollins is trying to hold Beck in close to prevent damage but Beck has managed to pass into half guard.
Beck misses with a head shot. Rollins uses the momentum to regain guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Beck will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As Beck backs off Rollins throws a huge counter combo but Beck manages to avoid it all.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Beck enables Rollins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Beck manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Rollins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Beck is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Beck has escaped and now he's on top!
