The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush avoids the head kick by Smith.
A good leg kick by Rush.
Rush misses with a kick to the body.
Smith lunges at Rush with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rush's hand.

It looks like Ronny Rush has been cut.
Rush cracks the inside of Smith's front leg.
Rush stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Rush rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rush lands with a short punch from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rush breaks the clinch.

Rush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rush could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Smith cracks Rush with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Smith has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Rush to stand back up!

Rush fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.
Smith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rush just stands there and leans against the cage.

Rush's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Smith connects with a body shot that sends Rush's belly button to the back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rush closes the distance and clinches.

Rush breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith thuds a left hand into Rush's body.
Smith tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Smith gets off balance looking for a body kick

so Rush counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Smith striking off his back but it's not causing Rush any problems.

Rush avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Rush decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ronny Rush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demri Smith.
Rush avoids a punch combination nicely.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rush checks a leg kick.

Rush rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage.

Rush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Smith lands a big uppercut and Rush crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Rush looks OK. Smith waves Rush back to his feet!

Smith shoots in for a takedown. SLAM! Brutal! Rush is out cold and this one is all over!
