Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luther Beck (ranked 7901 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Brooks (ranked 6327 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Brooks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luther Beck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Brooks !
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brooks fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Beck looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Beck closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brooks is pressing down on Beck's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Brooks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Beck would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Brooks is looking for a triangle but Beck pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brooks manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Beck manages to get himself to full guard.

Beck doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Beck might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Beck is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Beck is breathing heavily.
Brooks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Beck stands up over Brooks , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Brooks had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Beck defends it easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Brooks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brooks has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Brooks fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Beck moves into the clinch.
Beck jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brooks walks away with a smile on his face. Beck gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Beck misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brooks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Beck circles away quickly and effectively.
Beck moves to clinch but Brooks breaks away
and Brooks counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Brooks throws a nice looking combination but Beck bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beck shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Beck was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Beck cracks Brooks with a big right hand but Brooks just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Beck in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Beck lands some shots froms side control.
Brooks is looking for a sweep.

Beck goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brooks has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Beck but great work by Brooks .

Brooks decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Brooks misses with a double jab.
Brooks changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Brooks gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Brooks has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Beck off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Anthony Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Beck throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brooks tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Beck is in Brooks 's guard.

Beck could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Brooks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Beck can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Beck stands and steps away. Brooks gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
