Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Pyke (ranked 427 p4p, 59 weight class) and Brian Jacks (ranked 1236 p4p, 171 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Magnus Pyke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brian Jacks!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pyke dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pyke takes a swing at Jacks's ribcage but misses.
Pyke waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jacks.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jacks has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Pyke tries to land a body kick
and Jacks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

As Jacks backs away, Pyke returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Pyke looks to score with a jab to the body but Jacks is just out of range.
Jacks changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pyke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jacks throws out the jab.

Jacks shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jacks was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pyke is not content to let Jacks control the position.

Pyke gets back to half guard.

Jacks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pyke doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jacks.
Jacks is just content to waste time from the top position. Pyke takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jacks is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pyke is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pyke has escaped and now he's on top!

Pyke is pushing down on Jacks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jacks is fighting to maintain full guard but Pyke has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jacks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pyke pulls his head out easily.

Jacks wants to control but Pyke is keeping busy.
Pyke seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jacks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Pyke is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jacks slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jacks has his foot on Pyke's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pyke works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Pyke bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Magnus Pyke will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jacks lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Jab, jab by Pyke - just one landing.

Magnus Pyke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A punch lands to the side of Jacks 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jacks throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pyke sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pyke scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jacks's corner calls for a 1-2. Jacks obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Pyke throws a head kick that Jacks semi-blocks.

Pyke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jacks can do to turn this around?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jacks looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Jacks paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Pyke lands a head shot.
Pyke connects with an inside leg kick.
Magnus Pyke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pyke tries to score with a low kick but Jacks moves his leg out of the way.
Jacks has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jacks there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Pyke counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jacks thinking.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters circling a little - Pyke finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Pyke feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jackss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jacks's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Pyke catches Jacks with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Pyke jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pyke, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
