Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dayley tries for a takedown but Shepard circles away easily
and Shepard counters with a nice uppercut.
Dayley tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick by Dayley misses
and Shepard counters with a stiff right hand.
Shepard clinches with his opponent.
Dayley blocks an elbow strike from Shepard.
Shepard tries to throw a body punch but Dayley avoids it by throwing Shepard back against the cage.
Shepard has a couple of punches blocked by Dayley.
Shepard lands a shoulder strike.
Shepard jumps guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dayley drops back looking for a leg! Shepard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shepard manages to kick Dayley off! Dayley jumps back into Shepard's guard.
Dayley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shepard's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dayley is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dayley is working for a submission of some sort.
Dayley seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Shepard is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

David Dayley was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
In defeat, Commander Shepard stepped up to the mic, saying 'Well, I still saved the fucking universe. So whatever, suck a dick.'.
