The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks connects with a body shot.
Brooks lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Brooks connects with a body shot that sends Gafotas's belly button to the back.
Gafotas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gafotas.
Brooks connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Brooks connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gafotas's hands.
Brooks lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A punch combination from Brooks misses.
Brooks sizes up Gafotas with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Brooks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gafotas to the ground. Brooks is now in Gafotas's guard.

Gafotas has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Brooks has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gafotas has picked Brooks up - he's going for a ride! Gafotas dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Gafotas misses with a head shot. Brooks uses the momentum to regain guard.

Gafotas is looking to work some ground and pound but Brooks has wrist control.

Gafotas gets to his feet. Brooks looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Brooks gets a double leg takedown into Gafotas's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brooks is fighting to break Gafotas's control of his arms but Gafotas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Brooks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gafotas is proving hard to escape from.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brooks tries to free his leg and advance position but Gafotas is retaining full guard.
Gafotas wants to sweep here but Brooks controlling him for the moment.

Gafotas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brooks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gafotas is on top in guard.

Brooks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gafotas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gafotas is looking to work some ground and pound but Brooks has wrist control.

Gafotas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gafotas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gafotas keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brooks's head.
Brooks can't keep his opponent in guard - Gafotas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gafotas is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Gafotas seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Brooks is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
