Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Coath (ranked 79 p4p, 12 weight class) and Mack Branco (ranked 328 p4p, 51 weight class). Coath kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is For Heavy Metal we will die!. Branco has chosen Stranglehold as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branco lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Coath.
Branco slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Chris Coath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Coath connects with a right hand. Branco shakes it off.
Branco steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Coath.
Coath swings for the body but Branco moves out of range.
Branco ducks right into an uppercut from Coath.
Coath throws a body kick that misses.
Coath is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Branco.
Coath pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

And Branco tries to counter it with a takedown but Coath pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Branco connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Coath momentarily.

Branco slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Coath blocks a jab.
Coath thows a left - swing and a miss!
Branco feints and then cracks Coath's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Coath down.
Branco has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Coath uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Branco.
Coath misses with a straight right.
Branco is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Coath with a body shot.
Branco throws a shot from downtown. Coath moves away and avoids it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Coath, as that shot connected.
Coath is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Branco.
Branco ducks under a wild hook from Coath.
Branco will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
We've been told by Coath's head coaches at Heavy Metal that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Branco throws a leg kick which misses Coath's front leg but catches the back leg as Coath tries to avoid it.

Branco lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Coath is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Coath punishes Branco's body with a nice straight punch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A telegraphed right hand from Branco misses the target.
Coath misses the shot to the body.
Branco swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Coath fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Coath misses with a looping left.
Branco has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Coath finds it's way round the side to connect with Branco's head.
Coath lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Coath takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Branco walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Coath checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Branco swings for the body but Coath moves out of range.

Branco is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Coath had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Branco bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Branco avoids the body shot from Coath.
Coath loads up on a big right hand but Branco slips the punch.
The crowd cheers as Branco lands an impressive looking overhand right. Coath doesn't seem phased though.

Coath throws an overhand right that lands on Branco's shoulder, as Branco tries to avoid the shot.

and Branco counters with a single leg into guard. Coath didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Branco got a little sloppy there for a moment and Coath has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Branco has managed to get both his arms back between Coath's legs - danger averted.

Branco has gone for a leg lock! Coath slips out almost immediately though and dives into Branco's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Branco has his feet on Coath's thighs here. He's pushed Coath off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Coath screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

A less than humble Mack Branco misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
