Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Emmett Vaughn (ranked 25548 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Grimes (ranked 6643 p4p, 0 weight class). Emmett Vaughn has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Emmett Vaughn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Jason Grimes!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grimes moves into the clinch successfully.
Grimes controlling the action here for a moment.
Grimes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vaughn just stands there and leans against the cage.
Grimes taking a breather.
Vaughn is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Grimes is defending well for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grimes digs a right hand underneath Vaughn's ribcage. Vaughn let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Grimes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Grimes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vaughn tries to avoid it but Grimes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vaughn to the ground. Vaughn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vaughn changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Grimes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vaughn avoids it really well and circles away.
Emmett Vaughn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Grimes.

Grimes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Vaughn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Grimes rushes Vaughn and presses him up against the cage.

Grimes throws a right hand that Vaughn ducks under and follows up with a left that Vaughn also avoids with ease.

Vaughn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Grimes's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vaughn would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Vaughn wants to stand and escape but instead Grimes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Emmett Vaughn will probably get the nod.

Grimes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vaughn is fending him off so far but Grimes persists. Nope, Vaughn circles away and we're back to standing.
Grimes throws a right hand that Vaughn ducks under and follows up with a left that Vaughn also avoids with ease.
Vaughn seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Grimes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Vaughn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vaughn showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vaughn seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Grimes pushes Vaughn off looking to stand but Vaughn dives back in and keeps control.
Emmett Vaughn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That was a close second round but I would say that Emmett Vaughn will probably get the nod.

Grimes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vaughn, pushing him back against the cage.

Vaughn works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Vaughn tries to stand but Grimes is controlling from the bottom.

Vaughn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Grimes, up you get!

so Vaughn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Grimes is working an open guard so Vaughn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Grimes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vaughn to keep the fight standing.

Vaughn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Vaughn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vaughn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Grimes unleashes a big counter combination but Vaughn bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Vaughn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Grimes as he jumps to the side.
Despite the aggression on Grimes's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Grimes leaves Vaughn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emmett Vaughn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
