PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mukinio Tambua (ranked 2145 p4p, 261 weight class) and Bonzela Franco (ranked 22501 p4p, 781 weight class). Franco has chosen Anti Heroi as his entrance music. Bonzela Franco is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tambua shoots in for a double leg but Franco sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

It looks like Mukinio Tambua has been cut.
Tambua has been working on his balance at School of Hard Knocks, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Franco.

Franco told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Franco is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tambua is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Franco to the mat. Franco regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Tambua has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Tambua drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Franco manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tambua has Franco in his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Mukinio Tambua will probably get the nod.

Sloppy strikes from Franco. Those never looked like landing.
Tambua is looking to counter punch.
Bonzela Franco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Franco's corner calls for a 1-2. Franco obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Tambua feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
