PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kamden Jackson (ranked 7062 p4p, 714 weight class) and Marcus Lima (ranked 7510 p4p, 732 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Valparaiso. Marcus Lima is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kamden Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Lima!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lima misses with a double jab.
Jackson is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Lima throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lima throws an overhand right that lands on Jackson's shoulder, as Jackson tries to avoid the shot.
An attempted straight right counter from Jackson misses the target.
Lima misses with a head kick.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lima sprawls well. Lima wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.
Lima throws a body shot but no joy.
Jackson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
A punch combination from Lima misses.
Lima throws a hook to the side of Jackson's head but Jackson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lima swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lima dives on top into guard.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lima gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've been hearing good reports from Jackson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Lima is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
