Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Lilja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben de la Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Lilja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben de la Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lilja misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lilja shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with de la Sosa but de la Sosa pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lilja moves out of range of the body kick from de la Sosa.

de la Sosa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

de la Sosa is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lilja knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lilja is looking for a sweep.

de la Sosa stands up.
de la Sosa is looking to clinch.
de la Sosa keeps the fight on the outside.
Lilja shoots in for a takedown but de la Sosa shows good takedown defense.

Lilja has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. de la Sosa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as de la Sosa takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

de la Sosa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lilja tries to get back to half guard but can't.

de la Sosa has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lilja is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
de la Sosa misses with an attempted mid kick.
de la Sosa tries to score with a low kick but Lilja moves his leg out of the way.
de la Sosa throws a body kick that misses.

de la Sosa closes the distance and clinches.

de la Sosa manages to break the clinch.

Lilja gets a takedown into half guard.
de la Sosa is trying to get back to full guard.

de la Sosa is refusing to be controlled, as Lilja sits in half guard.
Lilja is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lilja is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
de la Sosa wants to improve his position but Lilja is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lilja not doing much here.
Lilja wants to free his trapped foot but de la Sosa is holding on for dear life with his legs.
de la Sosa is looking to improve his position.
de la Sosa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lilja. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lilja fails with a takedown attempt.

de la Sosa throws a big shot that misses.
de la Sosa slips a jab and a cross from Lilja.
Ben de la Sosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
de la Sosa is looking to clinch but Lilja is avoiding it.

de la Sosa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. de la Sosa showed some decent athleticism there.

Lilja looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Lilja trying to control but de la Sosa postures up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
de la Sosa is trying to control the action in half guard but Lilja is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lilja trying to keep a closed guard but de la Sosa is proving a slippery customer.

Lilja manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
de la Sosa flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

de la Sosa has left one of his arms exposed and Lilja doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. de la Sosa screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
