Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grady Froelich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Hindman!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Hindman misses the target.
Froelich drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hindman sprawls and moves away.
Froelich ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Froelich tries to counter by clinching up but Hindman breaks away and moves out of range.
Hindman lands with a straight right. Froelich didn't see that one coming.
Hindman's corner calls for a 1-2. Hindman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Froelich has closed the distance and engaged Hindman in a clinch.
Froelich is trying to stall.
Hindman misses with a hook from the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hindman.
Froelich looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Hindman misses with a punch on the inside.
Hindman misses with a punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hindman blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hindman makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hindman pushes Froelich back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Froelich tries to stall but Hindman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Froelich wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hindman has him pressed against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Hindman.

Froelich has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hindman is trying to keep an underhook but Froelich manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Hindman is trying to control but can't.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Froelich pulls Hindman into guard.
Hindman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Froelich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hindman on the ground.

Hindman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Froelich on the side of the head.
Hindman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hindman fails in his attempt to clinch.

Froelich has managed to clinch.

Froelich has Hindman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Froelich pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hindman tumbling to the mat - Froelich dives into Hindman's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Froelich throws a big right hand that misses.
Froelich has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Froelich is trying to trip Hindman. He has hold of a leg but Hindman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Froelich persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Grady Froelich overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hindman holds on and takes a little breather.

Hindman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Froelich's guard.

Froelich is looking for a sweep. Hindman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hindman is thwarting Froelich's attempts to control the position.
Froelich is in trouble now - Hindman has advanced to mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mark Hindman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hindman is trying to control Froelich's posture but Froelich avoids it.
Hindman manages to get back to half guard.
Froelich perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hindman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hindman is on top in guard.

Froelich is looking to stand up but Hindman isn't so interested in that idea.
Hindman stands and throws Froelich's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hindman is looking to take a break and control but Froelich is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hindman creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Froelich sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Hindman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Froelich knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hindman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hindman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Froelich is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hindman has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Froelich is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hindman yanks on the arm and Froelich is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hindman.
