Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Santos Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Sams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Santos Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Sams!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sams instigates a clinch.
Sams prevents Kerr from breaking the clinch.
Kerr wants a takedown.
Kerr wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sams misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kerr is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Sams is looking for a takedown.

Kerr jumps guard.
Sams is looking to stand up but Kerr won't let him.
Sams wants to stand and escape but instead Kerr has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kerr landing some decent shots from guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kerr loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sams trying to strike off his back.
Kerr trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Kerr gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kerr moves out of range as Sams throws a body kick.

Sams drives through and clinches with Kerr against the cage.

Kerr breaks the clinch.
Kerr misses with the combination.

Sams moves into range and clinches up with Kerr.
Kerr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kerr fails to pull guard.
Sams fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Santos Kerr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Sams.
Sams lands a right hand.
Kerr is trying to force a seperation but Sams has the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sams jumps guard.
Kerr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kerr won't allow Sams to sweep him here.
Sams pulls Kerr in close to prevent any damage.

Kerr gets to his feet - Sams follows without any prompting.

Sams rushes Kerr and presses him up against the cage.
Sams is looking for a takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sams is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kerr can't fight it off and eventually Sams manages to take the fight to the floor. Kerr looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kerr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kerr holds on and takes a little breather.
Kerr wants to sweep but no luck.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sams wants to stand but Kerr is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kerr is pulling down on Sams's head to control his posture.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kerr has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kerr walks into a jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sams drives through and clinches with Kerr against the cage.

Kerr manages to break the clinch.
Sams fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kerr.

Kerr gets tackled into the cage by Sams. Sams maintains the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Sams dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Sams has closed the distance and engaged Kerr in a clinch.

Sams breaks from the clinch.

Sams lands a left and a right that send Kerr crashing to the mat, dazed. Sams thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Kerr is rocked!


It looks like Santos Kerr has been cut.
Sams has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sams fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Kerr out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Johnny Sams!
