PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matias Orava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Blanchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Orava. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Orava.
A jab lands there for Blanchard.
Orava scores with a sloppy right hand. Blanchard should have avoided that one.
Orava fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Blanchard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Blanchard. Orava does a little dance to reset his feet.
Orava seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Blanchard throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Orava misses the jab.
Blanchard swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Orava punishes Blanchard's body with a nice straight punch.
Orava looks to throw the jab but Blanchard is out of range.

A little feinted left hand from Orava on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Orava throws an overhand right that lands on Blanchard's shoulder, as Blanchard tries to avoid the shot.

Orava fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A big left from Blanchard misses.
Orava was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Orava smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Blanchard throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Orava stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Blanchard moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

and Orava counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Orava feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Blanchards jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Orava lands a right hook to the body.
Blanchard misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Orava.
Orava lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Blanchard throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Orava swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Blanchard misses with a two punch combination.
Orava takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Blanchard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Orava moves away.
Orava lands a really nice looking cross but Blanchard seems unphased.

Orava avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A quick step to the side and Orava tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Blanchard has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Blanchard there as he acknowledges the shot.
Blanchard with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Orava to score with a decent uppercut.

Blanchard has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Blanchard takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Orava counters with a nice right hand that sends Blanchard toppling to the canvas! Blanchard scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Orava finish him?!

and Orava scores with a counter punch that sends Blanchard to the canvas! Orava smells blood - he's punishing Blanchard with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Blanchard has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
