Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doug Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Mugger!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mugger throws a wild body kick that Bell sees coming a mile off.
Mugger lands a high kick!
Bell looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mugger looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Dean Mugger has been cut.
Mugger ducks under a wild hook from Bell.
Mugger scores with a nice head shot.
Bell throws a body punch but Mugger moves out of range.
Mugger throws a big counter head kick but Bell avoids it with no problem.
Bell takes a kick to the side of the head.

A slapping body kick lands there for Mugger.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bell tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Mugger manages to circle out of the way.

Bell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mugger to the mat! Mugger manages to get full guard.

Bell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mugger looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Bell puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Mugger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bell lands a nice short elbow.
Mugger tries to roll over but Bell keeps him under control.
Bell content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mugger for as long as he can get away with.
Mugger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bell moves nicely into side control.

Mugger seems a little lost for a moment, as Bell dominates the positioning.

Bell is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mugger has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Bell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mugger manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Doug Bell dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Mugger throws a head kick that misses.
Bell tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Mugger manages to circle out of the way.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bell here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Mugger tries a low kick but Bell avoids it.
A big right from Bell misses.
Bell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mugger can do to turn this around?
Mugger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bell.
Bell takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bell. Mugger does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bell lands with a nice combination. Mugger backs away looking to recover.
Mugger delivers a nice body kick.

Mugger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bell is putting a hurting on Mugger here, landing some big shots from side control.

Bell lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mugger down.
