Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrey Eremeev (ranked 1399 p4p, 166 weight class) and Paul Kruger (ranked 2015 p4p, 225 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrey Eremeev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Kruger!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruger throws out a loose jab but Eremeev uses good head movement to avoid it.
Eremeev moves into range and connects with a jab.
Eremeev misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kruger.

Eremeev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Eremeev is nestled in close to Kruger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Eremeev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kruger is staying active underneath Eremeev, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Eremeev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kruger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kruger has his foot on Eremeev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Eremeev works his way back into a safe position though.

Eremeev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kruger controls Eremeev momentarily but Eremeev frees himself.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Eremeev scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Kruger lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Eremeev wants to slow Kruger down by chopping away at his legs.

Eremeev throws a series of punches but Kruger avoids them all with ease.

Eremeev fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kruger to the ground. Eremeev is now in Kruger's guard.

Kruger has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Eremeev off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Eremeev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kruger is fending him off so far but Eremeev persists. Nope, Kruger circles away and we're back to standing.

Eremeev has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Kruger regains guard immediately.

We've been hearing that Eremeev has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Kruger has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Eremeev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Eremeev arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Kruger's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Andrey Eremeev!
A relieved looking Andrey Eremeev thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
