Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Avery Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cannon Blast!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blast shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sanders counters with a three punch combo that has Blast backing up. Blast nods at Sanders to acknowledge the strikes.

Blast fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sanders sprawls well initially but Blast persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sanders tries to kick Blast off but Blast keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sanders is staying active underneath Blast, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sanders controlling the position well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Blast felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Blast had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanders defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blast throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sanders uses it to pass to side control.
Blast is breathing heavily.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Blast tries to buck Sanders off but Sanders is having none of it.
Sanders is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blast can do to turn this around?

Blast wants to control but Sanders is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanders goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Blast is on top in guard.

Sanders has control of Blast's left arm, preventing Blast from doing any damage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sanders holds on and takes a little breather.
Sanders wants to sweep but no luck.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blast is looking to take a break and control but Sanders is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Blast is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Avery Sanders.
Well Sanders has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
