Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tucker Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergio Barrett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tucker Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson closes the distance and pushes Barrett back into the cage.
Wilson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Barrett has him pressed against the cage.

Barrett breaks from the clinch.
Wilson fails with the takedown
letting Barrett counter with a right hand.
Barrett leaves Wilson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wilson has his takedown stuffed

and Barrett counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Sergio Barrett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tucker Wilson.
Wilson is looking for a sweep. Barrett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Barrett is working away from the top position though.
Wilson is looking to improve his position.
Wilson looks like he's trying to stand up.

Barrett is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Wilson manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barrett would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Wilson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barrett defends it easily.
Wilson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Barrett slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Barrett gets the takedown into side control.

Barrett wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wilson, who protects the arm well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Barrett seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wilson for as long as he can get away with.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Barrett's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Barrett continues to stall.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Wilson throws a head kick that misses

so Barrett counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

More hug and hope from Barrett.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Barrett is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wilson can do to turn this around?
Wilson tries to clinch up but Barrett circles away and keeps his distance.
Barrett seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Wilson leaves Barrett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wilson closes the distance but Barrett moves to the side

and Barrett counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Barrett.
Barrett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Barrett is stalling in the full guard.
Wilson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Barrett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sergio Barrett overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wilson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Barrett!
Wilson is breathing heavily.

Wilson scores with a couple of short elbows.
Barrett is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wilson off and has taken his back!
Barrett is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
I really don't envy Wilson right now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wilson trying to get back to his feet but Barrett is in full control for now.
Barrett really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Wilson.

That's time! Barrett's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Wilson shoots and misses

and Barrett holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Barrett content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Wilson looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Wilson fails to pull guard.
Wilson is looking to break free of the clinch but Barrett has double underhooks.
Wilson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Barrett just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sergio Barrett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tucker Wilson.

Barrett breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson lands a nice looking body shot.

and Barrett counters by clinching up.
Wilson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Barrett is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Wilson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wilson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Wilson tries to sprawl but Barrett drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wilson is trying to escape back to his feet but Barrett uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Barrett is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Wilson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Barrett connects with a decent elbow.

Barrett is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wilson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Barrett has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barrett stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Barrett misses with a double jab.
Wilson moves in looking to clinch but Barrett pushes him off.

Barrett manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wilson on his heels. He'll look to pass Wilson's guard now, I'm sure.
Barrett is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Barrett decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wilson, up you get!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Barrett scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tucker Wilson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sergio Barrett is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Still in half guard, Barrett seems content to control.
