Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Ortiz misses
and Ortiz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ortiz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center.

enabling Adams to counter with a crisp jab.
Adams fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ortiz on the side of the head.
Adams paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Adams lands a big head kick that sends Ortiz tumbling to the mat! Adams takes a step backwards and waves Ortiz back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Adams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Good work by Adams as he checks the leg kick.
Adams punishes Ortiz's body with a nice straight punch.
Adams bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ortiz's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Adams connects with a right hand. Ortiz shakes it off.
Adams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Ortiz is rocked!
Adams lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Ortiz falls backwards - clearly groggy! Adams dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicki Adams!
