PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Khabib Murmegov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keddhoo Hwo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Khabib Murmegov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Keddhoo Hwo!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hwo scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Hwo tries to keep at a distance but Murmegov has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hwo struggles to land a body shot inside as Murmegov controls his hands.

Murmegov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hwo misses with a double jab

and Murmegov counters by moving into the clinch.

Murmegov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Murmegov throws a sloppy head kick and Hwo moves out of range easily.
Hwo fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murmegov shoots in but Hwo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Murmegov takes a jab right on the kisser.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murmegov misses the jab.
Hwo is looking for the big counter here.

Murmegov has closed the distance and engaged Hwo in a clinch.

Murmegov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No joy there for Hwo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Murmegov shoots in and bounces Hwo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hwo looking for a sweep. Not yet Hwo, not yet.
Hwo wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Murmegov is now in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hwo manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hwo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hwo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murmegov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Murmegov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Murmegov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hwo looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murmegov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Murmegov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hwo, up you get!
Hwo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Hwo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Murmegov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Murmegov fails to land with a series of punches.
Hwo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Murmegov.
Hwo unleashes a big counter combination but Murmegov bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Murmegov moves into the clinch successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Murmegov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Hwo tries to throw a body punch but Murmegov avoids it by throwing Hwo back against the cage.

Murmegov drags the fight down to the ground.
Murmegov managing to control the position.

Murmegov working for a triangle but Hwo defends it easily.

Hwo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khabib Murmegov dominated that round.
That's time! Murmegov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Murmegov darts in and clinches Hwo up against the cage.
Hwo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Murmegov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hwo can do to turn this around?

Murmegov tightens his grip and picks Hwo up, before dumping him to the ground. Hwo manages to land in guard.
Hwo trying to keep a closed guard but Murmegov is proving a slippery customer.
Murmegov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hwo keeping full guard, as Murmegov tries to pass.
Murmegov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hwo controls Murmegov momentarily but Murmegov frees himself.

Hwo is working an open guard so Murmegov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hwo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Murmegov circles away quickly and effectively.
Hwo throws a combination that misses

and Murmegov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Murmegov.
Hwo can't break the clinch.
Murmegov slowing the pace effectively.
Murmegov lands a knee to the body.
Hwo working hard to break the clinch.
Hwo tries a body shot but Murmegov blocks it.

Murmegov pulls guard successfully.
Khabib Murmegov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Murmegov can't keep his opponent in guard - Hwo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Murmegov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murmegov is trying to stand.

Hwo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Murmegov defends it well.
Hwo passes to side control.
Murmegov is trying to improve his position.
Hwo tries to move to mount but Murmegov blocks the move with his legs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murmegov is not content to let Hwo control the position.
Hwo works to advance to full mount. Murmegov defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Hwo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Hwo moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Murmegov has worked his arm free - good work by Murmegov!
Hwo trying to control the position but Murmegov is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hwo tries to advance to mount but can't.
Murmegov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Murmegov tries to get out of the position.

Hwo decides to stand back up.
Murmegov wants to clinch
and Hwo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Murmegov fails to land the takedown.
Despite the aggression on Hwo's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Murmegov darts in trying to clinch
and Hwo counters with a three punch combo that has Murmegov backing up. Murmegov nods at Hwo to acknowledge the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Khabib Murmegov will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Murmegov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Hwo looking to control but Murmegov passes into half guard.
Hwo wants to improve his position but Murmegov is controlling well.
Murmegov is taking a breather. Hwo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Murmegov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hwo sees it coming and defends easily.
Hwo is trying to control but can't.

Murmegov slips a nice elbow through Hwo's hands, connecting with Hwo's forehead.
Hwo trying to control from the bottom.
Murmegov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Murmegov is trying to work for a kimura but Hwo is defending well.
Hwo moves into full guard.
Hwo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Murmegov controls the pace.
Murmegov won't allow Hwo to sweep him here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Murmegov drops back looking for a leg! Hwo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hwo manages to kick Murmegov off! Murmegov jumps back into Hwo's guard.
Hwo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hwo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Murmegov is one step ahead there.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hwo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Murmegov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hwo trying to control here.
Hwo tries to get to full guard but Murmegov has control of the leg.

Murmegov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hwo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Murmegov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Murmegov's back!

Hwo is working for a rear naked choke. Murmegov is not defending it well and Hwo has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Murmegov refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Murmegov's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Keddhoo Hwo!
