PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donald Chartier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chartier's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Disturbed - Stricken. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donald Chartier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Carter Mann!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mann misses with a body shot.
Mann gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Carter Mann has been cut.
Mann throws a series of punches but Chartier moves out of range.
Mann misses with a two punch combination.
Mann looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A shot to the liver by Chartier. Beautiful body shot.
Chartier swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mann.
Chartier throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mann stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mann doesn't manage to clinch there - Chartier circles away.
Mann rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chartier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Chartier swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Mann lands a jab to the head.
Mann throws a right hand that Chartier ducks under and follows up with a left that Chartier also avoids with ease.
Carter Mann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mann misses with a wild combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chartier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mann.
Mann shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mann lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Mann moves out of range of the leg kick from Chartier.
Mann doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Chartier loads up on a big right hand but Mann slips the punch.
Chartier showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mann.
Mann moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Mann throws a series of punches but Chartier avoids them all with ease.
Mann misses with a jab to the body
and Mann takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mann misses with the combination.
Chartier slips a jab and a cross from Mann.

Chartier sends Mann crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Chartier is motioning to the referee to let Mann up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chartier dodges the punch combination from Mann.

Chartier feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mann sprawling to the canvas! Mann rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Chartier finish him?!
Mann is still on wobbly legs! Can Chartier finish him?

That has opened up Carter Mann's cut even more.
Mann checks a low kick from Chartier.
Mann lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Mann is aggressively charging in as Chartier backs up avoiding any damage. Chartier tosses out a jab and Mann runs right into it face first! Mann is out cold! Chartier dropped down on all fours and is barking in Mann's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
