Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elias Lyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Motts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motts on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Lyon darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lyon lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Motts at a distance.
Lyon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Motts swivels and escapes.
A nice side step and Motts releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lyon.
Motts is trying to improve his position.
Motts is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lyon takes a little break here. Motts wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Motts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lyon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lyon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lyon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Motts can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lyon lands a couple of good shots and Motts has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee is taking a good look at Motts as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Lyon!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Lyon has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Motts has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Lyon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lyon working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Motts is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Lyon has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Motts taps out!
