Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cody Paris!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Den Reem!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reem throws a solid leg kick but Paris takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Reem.
Reem throws a low kick but it's checked well by Paris.
Paris checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Reem tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Paris is able to avoid easily.

Reem gets caught napping as Paris dives in and scores a takedown. Reem manages to retain guard.
Reem is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Paris dives into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reem can do anything to dispel that myth.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Reem is trying to get back to half guard.
Paris happy to just control the position for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paris lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


It looks like Den Reem has been cut.
The referee warns Reem that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Paris is landing with some decent strikes but Reem is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Paris drops a big elbow. That's hurt Reem! More shots from Paris and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cody Paris!
