PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Levi Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Blaver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaver has chosen AC/DC's Hells Bells as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Levi Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alan Blaver!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Jones does no damage.
Blaver buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Blaver displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Blaver was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.

Blaver fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Blaver persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jones moves into full guard.
Blaver throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.
Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Blaver is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jones postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blaver is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jones, into his guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Blaver's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Blaver gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.
Jones wants to slow Blaver down by chopping away at his legs.
Jones just misses with a punch to the body.
Blaver scores with a push kick.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Blaver darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage.

Blaver trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed Blaver into the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blaver lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jones or not.

Blaver throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Blaver connects with a knee to the head.

It looks like Levi Jones has been cut.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Blaver digs a right hand underneath Jones's ribcage. Jones let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Blaver has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blaver is proving hard to escape from.

Blaver is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture.
Jones won't allow Blaver to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jones misses with a body shot.
Jones throws a body punch but Blaver moves out of range.
Blaver avoids the body shot from Jones.
Levi Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blaver tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Blaver bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Blaver keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A right-left combo lands from Blaver.
Blaver comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nice uppercut lands for Blaver. That snapped Jones's head back.
Blaver plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
A nice leg kick lands there from Blaver.

Blaver lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Blaver cracks the inside of Jones's front leg.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Blaver can pounce on him.
Blaver is looking to clinch.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blaver moves away.
Jones is looking to wear down Blaver with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Blaver lands a hook that stumbles Jones back into the cage. Blaver follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Jones to the canvas! Blaver pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Jones has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
