The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallegos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Melville is fending him off so far but Gallegos persists. Nope, Melville circles away and we're back to standing.
Gallegos blocks a head kick by Melville.

Melville moves into the clinch.

Melville breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gallegos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gallegos is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Gallegos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Melville is concentrating on defense, preventing Gallegos from advancing position.

Gallegos is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Melville defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Melville is trying to stand up here but Gallegos is controlling him well.
Melville manages to get to full guard.

Melville has his foot on Gallegos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gallegos works his way back into a safe position though.

Melville is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gallegos is aware though and is defending well.
Gallegos wants to stand but Melville has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Gallegos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Melville swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Melville preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Gallegos stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Melville has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Gallegos manages to get his head free but now Melville has transitioned to an armbar! Gallegos grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Melville! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
