Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bob McLovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Zarco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Bob McLovin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Zarco!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLovin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Zarco raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Zarco.
McLovin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
McLovin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Zarco.
McLovin throws a head kick but Zarco moves out of range.
McLovin tries a head kick but it misses.
McLovin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zarco manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zarco misses with a low kick.
McLovin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zarco.
McLovin gets cracked there but stands up to it.
McLovin connects with a nice looking jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zarco loads up on a big right hand but McLovin slips the punch.
Antonio Zarco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zarco throws a nice outside leg kick.

McLovin throws a body punch but Zarco moves out of range.
McLovin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at HAWK Gym in the buildup to the fight.
A slow jab from Zarco misses its intended target.
A little feinted left hand from McLovin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A head kick misses from Zarco.
Zarco ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Zarco misses with a shot to the body
and McLovin counters with a right hand to the body.
Zarco throws a leg kick that is checked
and McLovin counters with a series of strikes. Zarco will be more careful next time no doubt.
Zarco throws a predictable looking body shot
and McLovin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McLovin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zarco. McLovin does a little dance to reset his feet.
McLovin swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
McLovin takes a kick to the side of the head.
McLovin avoids the head kick by Zarco.
Zarco misses the shot to the body.
McLovin goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Zarco pushes McLovin up against the cage in a clinch.

Zarco tries to throw a body punch but McLovin avoids it by throwing Zarco back against the cage.
McLovin lands an elbow inside that Zarco shrugs off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zarco tries to land knees in the clinch but McLovin avoids the damage to the body.
McLovin working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Zarco looking to throw knees to the head but McLovin is blocking nicely.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McLovin takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Zarco is rocked!
McLovin lands a left hand.
Zarco is still on wobbly legs! Can McLovin finish him?
McLovin creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Zarco's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Zarco drops to his knees and McLovin pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob McLovin!
Bob McLovin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
