Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ubungu Mumba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kenneth Francis!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Mumba lands a glancing blow to the side of Francis's head.
Francis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Francis fails with the takedown.
Mumba moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Francis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mumba cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mumba gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Mumba lands a shot to the body.
Mumba lands with a light punch inside.

Mumba presses Francis against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Francis looks winded!
A short right hand to the side of the head by Mumba.
Mumba gets through Francis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Mumba lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.


Francis is rocked!

Francis lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Francis is still in real trouble! Can Mumba finish him?
Francis trying to advance position but Mumba counters by regaining guard.
Francis seems to have recovered his senses.
Mumba pulls Francis in close to his closed guard and prevents Francis from doing any damage or advancing position.
Mumba keeping moving, preventing Francis from controlling successfully.
Mumba wants to sweep but no luck.
Mumba lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Francis being controlled here, momentarily.

Francis looking for a sweep. Not yet Francis, not yet.
Mumba is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Francis is trying to keep Mumba in close.
Mumba is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Francis is trying to control the position but Mumba postures up.
Mumba stays in close to Francis's body and controls the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mumba continues to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Francis gets tackled into the cage by Mumba. Mumba maintains the clinch.
Mumba lands a right hand that snaps the head of Francis backwards.
Francis jumps guard but Mumba turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Ubungu Mumba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenneth Francis.
Mumba lands an uppercut.
A right hand to the body from Mumba.
Mumba lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Mumba lands a shoulder strike.
A short right from Mumba on the inside.
We've been informed that Francis has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Nice body punch from Mumba - that landed with a thud.
Mumba lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Francis backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ubungu Mumba dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice uppercut lands for Mumba. That snapped Francis's head back.
Mumba throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Francis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mumba catches Francis with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Good exchange - Mumba coming out on top.
Francis has his takedown stuffed

and Mumba holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A short uppercut from Mumba.

Mumba makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mumba scores with a shoulder strike.
Mumba lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Francis is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mumba lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Francis to his knees! Mumba keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ubungu Mumba!
Ubungu Mumba was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Kenneth Francis was interviewed post fight and said 'Have a break, have a kit kat.'.
