Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tiger Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benton is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kung Fu Fighting. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tiger Bear!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Benton!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benton shoots for a takedown but Bear saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Benton shoots for a double leg takedown but Bear sprawls well. He's pushed Benton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Benton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bear circles away.
Tiger Bear has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Benton.
Benton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bear misses with a low kick.
Nice sprawl there from Bear as Benton shoots in.

Benton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bear gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bear trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Benton is desperately trying to improve his position but Bear has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Tiger Bear will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bear thuds his shin into the meat of Benton's side.
Benton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bear as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Benton or perhaps it was just good defense by Bear which made him look bad.
Benton attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Bear throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Bear counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Benton is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Benton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bear manages to get himself to full guard.
Benton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Benton is trying to ground and pound but Bear uses the momentary lack of control by Benton to regain half guard.
Benton is pressing down on Bear's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bear is holding on for now.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bear throws a low kick, looking for Benton's leg but Benton calmly moves out of range.

and Bear counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Benton sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Bear lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Bear is looking to score with low kicks.
Bear throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bear, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
