Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Smith!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Carter jabs Smith right on the nose. Smith blinks but takes it well.

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
Carter is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Smith is looking for a kimura but Carter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter is trying to control but Smith passes into side control!

Smith stands up.
Carter lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Carter.
Smith fails to land the takedown.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smith tries for a takedown but Carter circles away easily
and Carter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Michael Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Smith.
Carter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Carter keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.

Carter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith cracks Carter with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Smith throws a big elbow that misses.
Carter trying to control the position here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carter's head.
Smith throws a big elbow that misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Michael Carter.
I think Carter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
