Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dewey Estrada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arlon Wind (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dewey Estrada has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dewey Estrada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arlon Wind!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wind looks for a takedown but Estrada sprawls well.
Estrada dives in for a single leg takedown but Wind sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Wind pulls guard successfully.
Estrada being controlled here momentarily.
Estrada scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wind looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Wind is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Estrada defends well.

Wind bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Estrada's guard.

Wind would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Wind loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Estrada wants to get back to his feet but Wind is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Wind is looking to take a break and control but Estrada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wind wants to free his trapped foot but Estrada is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Estrada has his hands clasped together around Wind's back. He's all about the action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Wind is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Estrada has managed to free his arm - good work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wind escapes and gets back to his feet.
Estrada will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Estrada counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Estrada dives in and grabs Wind's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wind pushes down on Estrada's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dewey Estrada. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for Estrada with that takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wind tries for a takedown but Estrada sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Estrada swats away the attempt to clinch by Wind.
Wind scores with a one two! Estrada had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Dewey Estrada has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wind closes the distance and clinches up with Estrada, looking for a takedown. Wind pushes Estrada against the cage but Estrada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dewey Estrada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arlon Wind.
Wind throws a sloppy head kick and Estrada moves out of range easily.
As Wind tries to get set, Estrada tries to push him back and clinch up but Wind manages to avoid the attempt.

Estrada keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Wind is breathing heavily.
Wind looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Estrada is fending him off so far but Wind persists. Nope, Estrada circles away and we're back to standing.
Wind tries to close the distance and clinch but Estrada swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Estrada shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wind pinned against the cage. Wind gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Wind looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Estrada is fending him off so far but Wind persists. Nope, Estrada circles away and we're back to standing.

Wind escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wind fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Estrada has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Estrada will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Arlon Wind seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Wind counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Wind tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Estrada counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Estrada displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wind.
Estrada shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wind as he jumps to the side.
Wind drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Estrada defends it well.

Wind wants to clinch up but Estrada keeps it at a distance.
Estrada changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Arlon Wind seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wind throws a head kick that misses.
Wind fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Dewey Estrada is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Estrada postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wind has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Arlon Wind showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Horrible takedown attempt by Wind or perhaps it was just good defense by Estrada, which made it look bad.
Wind looks to score with a jab to the body but Estrada is just out of range.
Wind tries to clinch up but Estrada circles away and keeps his distance.

Estrada attempts a counter takedown but Wind avoids it well and moves away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wind takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Wind is looking to work some ground and pound but Estrada has wrist control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Estrada is on top in guard.


Estrada got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wind has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Estrada has managed to get both his arms back between Wind's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wind has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Estrada can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Estrada throws a big elbow that misses.
Estrada in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Wind trying to control the position.

Wind isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Estrada stacks Wind on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Estrada!

Wind dodges the ground and pound from Estrada.

Estrada prevents Wind from escaping the position.
Arlon Wind has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wind is looking for a sweep.
Estrada gets to mount! Wind was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Wind sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Estrada stops Wind from getting back to his feet.
Wind slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Estrada has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Estrada looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wind is fending him off so far but Estrada persists. Nope, Wind circles away and we're back to standing.
Dewey Estrada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Arlon Wind is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Wind changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Estrada looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Estrada throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

I think Wind has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
