Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Archie Becker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kosei Date (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Becker scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Becker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Date wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Date dodges the ground and pound from Becker.
Date really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Becker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Becker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Date, who protects the arm well.
Becker looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Date is avoiding damage well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Date is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Becker has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Date throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Becker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Date clinches up against the cage.

Date lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Becker backwards.
Date taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
The referee calls for Date to work.
Date lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Archie Becker has been cut.
Becker goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A nice left hand lands by Date.

Date pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Becker moves into the clinch successfully.
Date comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Date tries to land a knee to the head but Becker blocks with his arms.
Becker has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Date avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Becker lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Date or not.
Becker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Date has him pressed against the cage.

Becker really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Date is struggling to control the position.
Date has Becker pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Becker is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Date - that's hurt Becker badly! Oh, another knee lands and Becker is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Becker doesn't seem to be complaining.
