The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McQueen tries to improve position but can't.

Pie tries for a kimura but McQueen is defending well.
McQueen regains half guard.
Pie wants to lay and pray for a moment but McQueen keeps working.
McQueen is trying to control but can't.
McQueen is looking for a sweep. Pie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pie moves nicely into side control.

Pie tries for a kimura but McQueen is defending well.

Pie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Pie is trying to get an arm triangle but McQueen is defending well.

McQueen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McQueen sneaks back into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Pie lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
McQueen wants to improve his position but Pie is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McQueen is trying to control but can't.

Pie seems to be working for a kimura but McQueen defends the submission attempt.
McQueen is looking to control Pie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McQueen avoid being mounted?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McQueen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
McQueen thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
McQueen managing to control the position.
McQueen is trying to control the position but Pie postures up.
McQueen will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Pie wants to control from the top but McQueen keeps moving.
McQueen looking for a sweep. Not yet McQueen, not yet.
McQueen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McQueen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pie is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McQueen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pie momentarily.

Pie tries to free his leg and advance position but McQueen is retaining full guard.
McQueen wants to sweep but no luck.

Pie has an Americana. McQueen didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Pie is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pie hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
