Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcfadden blocks a jab.
Welcher looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mcfadden is fending him off so far but Welcher persists. Nope, Mcfadden circles away and we're back to standing.
Welcher moves into the clinch.
Welcher tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mcfadden smiles and moves away.
Welcher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Welcher throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mcfadden's waist but Mcfadden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Welcher off to one side.
Ismael Mcfadden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Welcher.
Welcher misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Welcher tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mcfadden manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Welcher throws a leg kick but Mcfadden sees it coming and checks it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Mcfadden counters with a takedown into side control.

Mcfadden has Welcher pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mcfadden pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Welcher tumbling to the mat - Mcfadden dives into Welcher's guard.
Mcfadden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Mcfadden counters with a one-two to the body.
Welcher shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcfadden as he avoids it easily.

Mcfadden rushes Welcher and presses him up against the cage.
Mcfadden blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mcfadden lands a takedown into guard.
Welcher is wriggling around but Mcfadden manages to pass to half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mcfadden in particular looking to stall.
Mcfadden escapes and gets back to his feet.
Mcfadden moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Welcher misses with a few strikes there.
Welcher tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mcfadden swivels and escapes.
Jesse Welcher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Welcher dives in and grabs Mcfadden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mcfadden pushes down on Welcher's head and hops out.
Welcher avoids the head kick by Mcfadden.

Welcher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mcfadden manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Welcher is trying to force a seperation but Mcfadden has the dominant position.
Welcher tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Mcfadden ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mcfadden no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mcfadden has Welcher pulled in close to control his posture.
Mcfadden working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Welcher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Welcher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Welcher throws an elbow that misses. Mcfadden uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Welcher's guard. Nice move by Mcfadden!

Welcher wants to stand up but Mcfadden is controlling him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ismael Mcfadden will probably get the nod.
