Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Lainey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, John Winkle!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Winkle gets tackled into the cage by Lainey. Lainey maintains the clinch.

Lainey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lainey digs a good hook to Winkle's body.

Lainey has Winkle up against the cage in a clinch.
Lainey working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Lainey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Winkle on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Winkle gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jab, jab by Lainey - just one landing.
Lainey moves to clinch but Winkle breaks away

and Winkle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Winkle stops Lainey from standing up.

Winkle drops back looking for a leg! Lainey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lainey manages to kick Winkle off! Winkle jumps back into Lainey's guard.
Winkle trying to control but Lainey is working from the bottom.

Winkle stops Lainey from standing up.
Winkle wants to control from the top but Lainey keeps moving.
Lainey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lainey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winkle on the ground.

Winkle drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lainey manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Winkle has Lainey in his guard.

Lainey has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Winkle is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lainey trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Winkle lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Lainey is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Winkle is controlling him.

Lainey keeping full guard, as Winkle tries to pass.

Lainey is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Winkle jumps guard but Lainey stands there with Winkle around his waist. Winkle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Lainey manages to break the clinch.

Winkle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lainey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Winkle tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Winkle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lainey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Lainey is pushing Winkle's head away, looking to escape. Winkle manages to hold on to the position though.

Winkle is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lainey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lainey is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Winkle is controlling him well.
Winkle wants to control but Lainey is keeping him busy.
Lainey is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lainey is not content to let Winkle control the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lainey is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Winkle asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Lainey is wriggling around trying to escape but Winkle has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Lainey taps out and Winkle picks up the big win! Great work there by Winkle!
