Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Trudeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owin Erl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Trudeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Owin Erl!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erl bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A nice inside leg kick there by Trudeau. That's going to slow Erl down.
Erl fails with an attempt to clinch.

Trudeau gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Erl to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Trudeau wants to get back to his feet but Erl passes into half guard.

Trudeau is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Erl content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Erl is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Trudeau is staying active underneath Erl, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Erl darts in looking for a takedown but Trudeau gets double underhooks and turns Erl into the cage.

That was a close round but I would say that David Trudeau will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Erl is looking to clinch but Trudeau is avoiding it.
Trudeau loads up on a big right hand but Erl slips the punch.
Trudeau throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Erl sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Trudeau lands with a thumping leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Erl.
Trudeau is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Erl can do to turn this around?

Trudeau feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Erls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Erl prevents Trudeau from improving his position.
Erl is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Owin Erl has got the better of the ground game so far.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Erl connects with a nice short shot to Trudeau's temple.

Trudeau has control of Erl's left arm, preventing Erl from doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Erl takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Erl drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Trudeau gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Trudeau's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Trudeau breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Trudeau throws a half hearted mid kick.
Erl misses with a takedown attempt - Trudeau sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Erl changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trudeau tries to avoid it but Erl manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trudeau to the ground. Trudeau escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Trudeau was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Erl wants a takedown but no success here.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Trudeau, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
