PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeffery Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vatroslav Vusak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeffery Larson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vatroslav Vusak!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Larson feints and as Vusak raises his hands in defense, Larson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vusak manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Vusak is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Larson is defending well for now.

Larson breaks from the clinch.

Vusak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vusak lands in his opponent's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Larson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vusak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vusak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Vusak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Larson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vusak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vusak should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Vusak gets to his feet - Larson follows without any prompting.

Larson gets caught napping as Vusak dives in and scores a takedown. Larson manages to retain guard.

Vusak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Larson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vusak has managed to get both his arms back between Larson's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Larson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vusak defends it easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vusak accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Larson wants to get back to his feet but Vusak drags him back down.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Larson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Vusak has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Larson is trying to trip Vusak. He has hold of a leg but Vusak is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Larson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Vusak is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Larson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Vusak is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Larson's half guard.

Vusak shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Larson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Vusak decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Vusak.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jeffery Larson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Larson thows a huge punch but Vusak dodges it nicely.

Larson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Vusak wants to get back to his feet but Larson passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!


Larson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Vusak is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
