Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Joes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Wills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wills is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Linkin Park - In The End. Jake Wills has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Joes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Wills!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joes just misses with a punch to the body.
Joes throws a half hearted mid kick.

Wills clinches.
Joes stops a takedown attempt from Wills.
Joes missing with knees to the body.
Joes tries to throw a body punch but Wills avoids it by throwing Joes back against the cage.
Wills has Joes pressed against the cage, preventing Joes from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Wills tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Wills manages to pull guard.
Joes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Wills is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wills trying to keep a closed guard but Joes is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wills shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Joes but Joes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wills throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Wills slaps away a takedown attempt from Joes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wills tries to counter with a clinch but Joes shakes him off and moves away.

Joes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wills to keep the fight standing.
Wills is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Wills is pulling down on Joes's head to control his posture.
Wills is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Joes wants to control from the top but Wills keeps moving.
Wills is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wills looking to hit a scissor sweep but Joes is one step ahead there.

Jake Wills dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Joes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wills defends it nicely.

Wills makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wills.

Wills has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Joes is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wills.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Joes stands up from Wills's guard - Joes perhaps looking for a knockout.

Jake Wills is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Joes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wills tries to avoid it but Joes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wills to the ground. Wills escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well Wills has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
