Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shabazz Shabott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alan Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shabazz Shabott!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Shabott.
Horrible takedown attempt by Shabott or perhaps it was just good defense by Peters, which made it look bad.
Peters fires out a quick counter leg kick but Shabott just manages to avoid it.

Shabott has closed the distance and engaged Peters in a clinch.
Shabott drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Peters gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Shabott gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Peters.

Shabott ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shabott no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shabott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shabott prevents Peters from improving his position.
Shabott is trying to control the action in half guard but Peters is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Shabott darts in looking for a takedown but Peters gets double underhooks and turns Shabott into the cage.
Alan Peters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shabazz Shabott.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shabott is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Peters off and has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shabazz Shabott dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shabazz Shabott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peters takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Shabott throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Peters drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shabott looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shabott looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shabott!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Shabott scores with punches from side control.
Peters is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shabott off and has taken his back!
Peters scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Shabott is looking for a way out.
Shabott rolls, trying to escape but Peters keeps control of the position.
Peters controlling the position well here. Shabott rolled but Peters kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Peters lands shots from the back.
Peters biding his time, controlling Shabott.
Peters keeps control of the position as Shabott tries to break free.
Shabott manages to reverse the position and now he's in Peters's guard. Nice work there by Shabott.

Shabott working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peters wants to sweep but no luck.
Peters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Peters tries to get out of the position.
Peters is adopting a defensive guard.
Shabott trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Peters has control of Shabott's left arm, preventing Shabott from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peters closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Peters lands in his opponent's guard.

Peters got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shabott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Peters has managed to get both his arms back between Shabott's legs - danger averted.

Shabott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shabott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peters has a closed guard, preventing Shabott from standing up.
Alan Peters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Shabott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peters swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shabott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Peters circles away.
Peters attempts a counter takedown but Shabott avoids it well and moves away.
Shabott takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Shabott looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peters is fending him off so far but Shabott persists. Nope, Peters circles away and we're back to standing.

Peters feints and as Shabott raises his hands in defense, Peters changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Peters wants to control from the top but Shabott keeps moving.

Shabott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peters can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alan Peters.
I think Peters has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
