Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacare Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alonzo Branch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Branch's choice of entrance music: The Heart Part IV. Alonzo Branch has the eye of the tiger tonight.

With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacare Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alonzo Branch!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branch lets loose with a powerful body kick. Gracie will feel that in the morning.
Branch shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gracie eats them both and turns towards Branch to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Branch slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Branch unleashes a big counter combination but Gracie bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Branch goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Branch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Branch looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie with a poor takedown
and Branch counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacare Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie.

Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Branch tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Branch to the ground. Branch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Branch shows good takedown defense.

Branch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Branch pulls his head out easily.
Branch throwing shots but Gracie is blocking nicely.
Branch thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gracie tries to get to full guard but Branch has control of the leg.

Gracie is refusing to be controlled, as Branch sits in half guard.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Branch pulls his head out easily.

Branch seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gracie wants to control but Branch is keeping busy.

Branch is working for a submission of some sort.
Gracie is looking to improve his position.

Gracie tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Gracie tries to roll over but Branch keeps him under control.

Gracie throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Gracie has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Branch. Oh but Gracie has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Branch goes limp - he's gone! Gracie jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

After the fight, Jacare Gracie was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
