PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matt Kiraly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamil Kampamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Kiraly looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Kiraly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kamil Kampamba!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kampamba shoots in and bounces Kiraly off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kiraly looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Kiraly has his foot on Kampamba's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kampamba works his way back into a safe position though.
Kampamba is working Kiraly over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Kampamba must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've been hearing good reports from Kiraly's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kiraly goes for a takedown attempt but Kampamba pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kamil Kampamba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Horrible takedown attempt by Kiraly or perhaps it was just good defense by Kampamba, which made it look bad.

Kiraly is looking to regain half guard here but Kampamba keeps moving and retains side control.
Kiraly is not content to let Kampamba control the position.

Kamil Kampamba showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Kampamba is nestled in close to Kiraly, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kamil Kampamba comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kampamba has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
