Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Oppelaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baraka Simengwa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simengwa has chosen Afande Sele feat Ditto - Darubini kali as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 38 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dennis Oppelaar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 27 - 0, fighting out of London, Baraka Simengwa!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oppelaar looks to land a combination but Simengwa avoids it well.
Simengwa tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Simengwa avoids the head kick by Oppelaar.
Simengwa cracks Oppelaar with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Oppelaar throws a right hand that Simengwa ducks under and follows up with a left that Simengwa also avoids with ease.
Oppelaar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Simengwa showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Oppelaar.
It seemed like Simengwa was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Oppelaar throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Simengwa counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Simengwa.
Oppelaar wants to sweep but no luck.
Oppelaar wants to get back to his feet but Simengwa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Simengwa looking to pass the guard.
Simengwa won't allow Oppelaar to sweep him here.
Simengwa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Simengwa trying to control the position from guard on top but Oppelaar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Simengwa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Simengwa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Oppelaar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Simengwa is aware though and is defending well.
Simengwa won't allow Oppelaar to sweep him here.
Oppelaar tries to strike from the bottom.
Oppelaar keeping moving, preventing Simengwa from controlling successfully.
Simengwa tries to free his leg and advance position but Oppelaar is retaining full guard.
Simengwa trying to control the position from guard on top but Oppelaar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Oppelaar is controlling Simengwa's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simengwa forces his way into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simengwa is trying to control. Oppelaar wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Simengwa is trying to work for a kimura but Oppelaar is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simengwa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Oppelaar does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Oppelaar wants to control but Simengwa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Simengwa looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Simengwa wants to take a breather but Oppelaar is having none of it.
Simengwa passes the guard and advances to mount!

Simengwa quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Simengwa but it's paid off an Oppelaar is forced to tap! Nice work by Simengwa.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Baraka Simengwa!
Baraka Simengwa spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
