Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Maki Kamiya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Peevey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maki Kamiya has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maki Kamiya!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Peevey!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peevey on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kamiya. Kamiya obviously looking to wear him down.
Kamiya connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kamiya really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peevey doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kamiya counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Peevey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kamiya is fending him off so far but Peevey persists. Nope, Kamiya circles away and we're back to standing.

Peevey goes for a double leg but Kamiya avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kamiya continues to drive forward.

Kamiya has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peevey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
