PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zulu Zulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Xeno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zulu Zulu is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zulu Zulu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chase Xeno!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Zulu misses the target.
Xeno lands a nice shot that snaps Zulu's head back.
Zulu looks to throw the jab but Xeno is out of range.
Zulu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at BAD GUY INC in the buildup to the fight.
Zulu misses with a head kick.
A jab from Zulu does it's job there.
Zulu moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Xeno crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Zulu - the referee stops the clock and Xeno gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Zulu. Xeno manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Xeno tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zulu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Zulu scores with a sloppy right hand. Xeno should have avoided that one.
Zulu tries a head kick but it misses.
Xeno misses with a few strikes there.
A good leg kick by Zulu.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zulu connects with a right hand. Xeno shakes it off.
A slapping leg kick lands for Zulu.

Xeno takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Xeno lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zulu circles away quickly and effectively.
Xeno has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zulu finds it's way round the side to connect with Xeno's head.
Xeno takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Zulu looks to land a right hand but Xeno moved out of range.
Xeno tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A punch combination from Xeno misses.
Zulu throws a body kick that misses.
Xeno fails to land with a series of punches.
Xeno walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Chase Xeno has been cut.
Zulu thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Xeno if he has to take too many more of those.
Zulu Zulu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zulu misses with a body shot.
Xeno jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Zulu looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Xeno misses with a few strikes there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Xeno throws a lazy right hand but Zulu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zulu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Xeno's calf.
Xeno tries to close the distance and clinch but Zulu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zulu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zulu turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Xeno swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It appears Zulu was looking to counter with a kick there.
Zulu throws out a loose jab but Xeno uses good head movement to avoid it.
Xeno on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Zulu. Zulu obviously looking to wear him down.
Xeno misses with a combination
and Zulu makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Zulu connects with a solid leg kick.
A solid body kick from Zulu.
Zulu is looking to slow Xeno down with leg kicks.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Zulu! Xeno is out on his feet! Zulu rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Xeno is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Xeno is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zulu Zulu!
An out of breath Zulu Zulu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
